Bob Mariano Memorial Golf Classic raises funds for Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters

PRESCOTT – On May 23, 84 golfers hit the greens at The Club at Prescott Lakes for the 4th Annual Bob Mariano Memorial Golf Classic.

Benefiting the mentoring mission of Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters (YBBBS), the event raised $77,000.

“It was wonderful to work with the Mariano Family and the team at The Club at Prescott Lakes to honor Bob’s legacy,” said Laura Jones, Development Specialist for YBBBS. “Hosting the golf tournament raises vital resources to continue our youth mentoring services across Yavapai County, and encourages more members of our community to join our mission as Bigs. We look forward to next year’s event!”

Bob Mariano wholeheartedly believed in giving back to his community. He became a Big Brother to Little Brother Kyle in 2004, igniting a long-lasting relationship of significant impact. Bob also contributed his time and talent to YBBBS as a board member, starting in 2004 and serving as Board Vice Chair in 2006-2007.

“My family and I would like to thank everyone for supporting this tournament in memory of Bob. We are so pleased that it benefits Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters,” shared Bob’s wife, Barbara Mariano.

Texas Roadhouse was the luncheon sponsor and golfers had many opportunities to compete for prizes, including a scooter valued at $3,500, donated by PHAT Scooters and won by attendee Mike Grady.

The 2023 tournament sponsors made this event a success: The Mariano Family as Presenting Sponsor, Donald Tomney and Don Grady, as well as Advanced Coatings, Inc., Connolly Electric & Mechanical, PHAT Scooters, Lamb Chevrolet, Big O Tires, Courier Cares, Barry Barbe and El Gato Azul, Olsen’s, Stratos Wealth Partners, Ferguson, Nackard Pepsi, Texas Roadhouse and State Farm’s Makayla Chadwick.
