Child of the Week: Skyler

Skyler yDid you know that national research verifies positive relationships between Littles and their Bigs have a direct impact on that child’s life? Research shows children in Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters are 46% less likely to use drugs, 52% less likely to skip school, and 27% less likely to begin using alcohol than their peers, even those not facing adversity. You can help contribute to these impactful statistics by becoming a Big today!

Meet Skyler, a sweet and outgoing seven year old boy. He currently lives with his single mom. Skyler is excited to be matched to a Big Brother. Skyler plays in a football league and wants his Big Brother to come to his practices and games. He loves football and his favorite team is the San Francisco 49ers.
Skyler does well in school, excelling in science and math. He does get into trouble sometimes for talking in class. Overall, Skyler enjoys school and has friends. When he grows up he would like to be a police officer. Skyler states “Protecting others is a very hard job and I like challenges.” Skyler is open to trying new activities, a few on his list are riding a bike, fishing, and going to a museum. He enjoys music and playing outside. Skyler needs a Big Brother he can do “guy stuff” with and build his self confidence.
