Child of the Week: Gael

gael-webChildren are the backbone that make Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters one of the strongest youth serving agencies in the nation. Here is one of our 82 Little’s in the Prescott area waiting for a Big to come into his life.

Meet Gael, an ambitious 11 year old boy looking to place his trust in a positive male role. Gael’s father is not present in his life, and his mother works tirelessly to support their family. As a result, Gael needs someone he can spend 8 hours a month with to help lead him down the path of success and happiness. He loves to read books, study science, and play sports such as football and soccer.

With a Big, Gael would like to construct toy models, illustrate pictures, drive go-carts, go hunting, and go to the movies. His favorite movie is Furious 7, mainly because he can connect with the emotions of the movie through his own personal experiences. He is an avid admirer of Mexican soccer, and plans on becoming a professional soccer player like his idol, Christiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid.

Despite the ongoing need for mentors in the Quad City area, Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters matches more children per capita than any other mentoring agency in the nation. The statistics show that children in Yavapai County are being served by compassionate adults who care about the future of our world.
