Child of the Week: Ian

ianMeet Ian. He is a very smart, polite and sweet third-grader who attends Mountain View Elementary. Ian lives with his grandmother and older sister in Dewey, and does not have regular contact with his parents.

Ian is very computer-savvy and loves playing games and building with Legos. He loves playing with toy cars and with his animals, which include a horse, goats, a peacock, a rabbit, and a few chickens. Ian wants to be in the Army when he grows up and said the best thing that’s ever happened to him is when he went to Sea World with his grandma and sister a few years ago.

Ian does not have a male role model in his life and would greatly benefit from having a Big Brother. Things he would like to do with a Big Brother include riding bikes, collecting rocks, swimming, bowling, hiking, fishing, playing with remote control cars, basketball, horseshoes, and going to the movies.

You don’t have to change your life to change the life of a child like Ian. Just a few hours a couple times a month is enough to make a difference as a Big Brother. You can also be a Big as a Couple Match or with your whole family as a Family Match.

Right now, there is a need for Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Couple & Family matches with children living in Prescott Valley, Dewey and Chino Valley. Call 778-5135, or go to www.azbigs.org, for more information on how you can help change a child’s life… Fundamentally. For the better. Forever.
