Child of the Week: Alex

AlexTime is valuable, but it can be priceless when a little of that time is spent mentoring a child. Luckily, giving the smallest portion of your time towards a child can make an everlasting impact.

Meet Alex, a talkative 6 year old who finds enjoyment in simple things like playing video games, Buzz Lightyear and Spiderman. Alex lives with his single mother, older brother, and two older sisters. He likes to try new things, just needs the opportunities for new experiences. Alex needs a positive male role model who can show him how to explore in a safe environment.

Alex’s mom states he is smart, observant, and can be loud at times. Alex does well in school and especially likes to play on the playground with his friends. He admits that he sometimes gets into trouble at school for talking too much with his friends. Alex would like to be a Police Officer when he grows up. He needs a Big Brother who is patient and can commitment to spending time with him each month.

All it takes is 8 hours a month to make a massive difference on a child’s life. The impact you make on a child as a Big often times transfers over into their adult lives. Watching a child evolve into a caring and successful adult and helping others can be the ultimate reward.
