Chino Valley Child of the Week: Shay

Shay_featured_webYavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters is seeking adult volunteers to mentor children in our community. Our volunteers make a huge difference in children’s lives. All children are capable of success; there are no exceptions. It is our job as community members to find a way to support all children in our community.

Meet Shay, a charming 6 year old who lives with his single mother. He is a very sweet boy who loves music and singing in the shower all country songs he hears on the radio. Shay does not have many concerns in his life, other than going to school and riding his bike after school. He loves going to the skate park, but says he is ready to take a new challenge, such as trying rock climbing, hiking, or swimming. Building with Legos is his current passion and when he grows up he would like to become a policeman.

Shay needs a Big Brother who likes to be outdoors. He needs a positive male role model who can help him build his confidence. Shay would like a Big Brother who likes sports and can throw a ball with him, shoot some hoops, or kick a soccer ball. Imagine the impact you can make in Shay’s life with just eight hours a month.

If you are ready to step up and support Shay or another child, and to join our elite and impactful group of Bigs, contact YBBBS at 778-5135, go to www.azbigs.org, or Like us on Facebook for more information.
