Child of the Week: Kaiden

Kaiden-Mesquita-webWhen a child must persevere through great adversity, a serious loss of enthusiasm can be present. However, that is not the case for Kaiden, who keeps an upbeat attitude with him everywhere he goes.

Meet Kaiden, an enthusiastic 8 year old boy who is an expert at playing baseball, riding bikes, and forming friendships. Despite not having contact with his father, Kaiden excels in school, socializing, and Physical Education. Kaiden dreams of becoming a fireman and saving lives when he gets older.

A child whose strong heart drives him to help others, Kaiden says his mom means the world to him. Soccer, hiking, swimming, and building things are just a few of Kaiden’s many interests. In fact, Kaiden owns a few tool sets which he uses to refine his construction skills.

Although Kaiden is one of 200 children waiting to be matched to a Big, he would like his future mentor to know, “you can take me anywhere, I am easy to be with, and I never get bored.” 8 hours a month and an extra seatbelt in your car can be instrumental in a child’s life.
