Child of the Week: Annakh

AnnakhMeet Annakh. She is a very funny, smart, outspoken 6-year-old. Annakh lives with her older brother and mother. Her mom feels that having a Big Sister would help Annakh in many ways.

Annakh is very smart, does well in school and likes to spell out words when she talks. Annakh would like to learn how to play thepiano and violin, and would like to be a veterinarian or an archaeologist when she grows up.

Annakh doesn’t care what age her Big Sister is and just wants someone who is fun and takes to her to new places. She would like to try these things with her new Big Sister: flying kites, miniature golfing, swimming, camping, flying, horseback riding, going to movies, going to amusement parks, bowling, photography, gardening, ceramics, arts and crafts and playing an instrument.

You don’t have to change your life to change the life of a child like Annakh. Just a few hours a couple of times a month is enough to make a difference as a Big Brother or Big Sister. You can also be a Big as a Couple Match or with your whole family as a Family Match. Research shows that kids matched with a “Big” are, on average, 40 percent less likely to get arrested, compared to all other kids their age.
