Katie_Flood__little_Evangeline_Martin Doing good is a wonderful thing. As a Big Sister, you can give a girl an opportunity to see beyond her everyday world and dream big. It’s good for your Little, as well as your community. And it can start with simply letting her enjoy the things you already love to do, but can grow into something bigger.

For just a few hours, a couple times a month, you can give a Little the invaluable gift of your friendship. By simply changing their perspective of what the world can offer, you can literally start changing her life. Play a board game. Make fun crafts. Bake some cookies. Hit the playground together. Just as your options are unlimited, so is your Little’s potential.

Young people from single parent families are 200% more likely to go to jail at some point in their lives.

Girls growing up without an active father are 250% more likely to experience an unwanted pregnancy and 53% more likely to commit suicide.

The Impact …. Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters’ mentoring programs work!

Research tells us that compared with all other youth their age, boys and girls matched with a Big Brother, Big Sister or Family Match are 54% less likely to get arrested.

In addition, compared to their peers, matched youth are:

46% Less likely to start using drugs
27% less likely go start drinking
52% less likely to skip a day of school
